Hello,
We are looking to purchase a subfloor milling machine. After careful consideration, the two machines "Quattro" and the "BS-270 EL" have made it to the shortlist.
The "BS-270 EL" (successor to the milling machine "Alpha") is about USD 1,000 more expensive but has the advantage that a flap on the dust extraction ring can be removed, which apparently allows milling up to 100% right up to the wall, largely eliminating the tedious edge grinding with an angle grinder. However, the milling inserts for the "BS-270 EL" are also more expensive. They cost around USD 100 more per segment, which adds up to about USD 400 extra for replacing all four segments.
Does anyone have experience with either of these machines regarding functionality as well as the durability of the milling segments?
Thank you for any information!

Urs1988-116 Mar 2015 10:19Hi,
there are already several machines that are good.
Some time ago, I arranged a bs-270 el for a company. According to the feedback from the company, they are satisfied with the machine. However, I cannot provide a comparison because they knew exactly which machine they wanted.

Bodenmann-118 Mar 2015 23:54Hello everyone
I used to have the Omega (the larger version of the Alpha). However, when I occasionally ran into power limitations working in older buildings, I also bought an Alpha. But to work efficiently over larger areas, I have been looking for something bigger and smarter for quite some time.
After extensive searching and comparison, I came across the DSW-400. Besides the great accessories, it also offers very good features.
- stepless speed control (depending on application)
- stepless handle adjustment
- attachable additional weights up to the maximum! (I have 4 weights)
- good electronics with overload indicator
- excellent dust extraction ring (allows working close to the wall)
- large wheels for easy transport over rough terrain, cables, stairs...
- forced drive for the multi-disc plate (a great sanding plate)
I have had this machine for half a year. It is fantastic!
We often sand for hours, and when milling various subfloors, we usually work with all four additional weights. The machine has incredible power and has never let me down. I can confidently recommend it to anyone!
Just contact the manufacturer in Thörishaus near Bern. They demonstrate this machine on construction sites so no one has to buy it without seeing it in action.
