Bugs_34877 Oct 2013 13:25A few days ago, we started using our HIN4T and, apart from the beeping sound during operation, we are satisfied so far.
Unfortunately, despite studying the manual and searching online, I haven’t been able to find a way to turn off or at least reduce this annoying beeping.
Since we have an open-plan layout with a combined kitchen and living area, the beeping is heard throughout the entire house every time a control button is pressed, which we find quite intrusive and disturbing.
It would be great if anyone here has a solution to this problem!

There are cooktops where these sounds can be disabled, but not all. Warning tones for certain operating conditions must not be switchable.

Sektionschef7 Oct 2013 15:13I am not familiar with this cooktop, but maybe it is possible to locate the buzzer somewhere on the cooktop (on the underside?) and reduce the sound slightly by covering it with tape?
Best regards

where the beeper might be located and possibly reduce its volume by covering it with tape?
...I strongly advise against this because induction cooktops inherently emit more heat than conventional cooktops. If too much heat builds up inside the cooktop without proper dissipation, the safety mechanism will continuously switch off the cooktop, potentially causing permanent damage to the electronics (inverter and control system).

Bugs_34878 Oct 2013 17:13Strange that I haven’t been able to find anything about this topic online so far! The item was sold by Ikea in containers, so I find it hard to believe that we are the only ones who can’t or won’t put up with this beeping noise!!!

IKEA-Experte8 Oct 2013 19:23You can double-check with the Bauknecht customer service just to be sure, but if that doesn’t help and you’re not an experienced DIYer, your only options are to either ignore it or replace the cooktop.
With my AEG cooktop, I was able to turn off the beeping sounds (except for on/off and warning tones).
