hans_kohler12 Oct 2020 18:36We have had travertine installed on our terrace for a few years now. Gradually, unattractive darkening has appeared. The stone is cleaned twice a year with neutral soap and water, but it seems that dirt has settled into the fine pores and depressions.
It also appears to me that the stones are different from each other – but you can see for yourself in the pictures.
I understand that you shouldn’t use aggressive cleaning products on travertine, as it is a type of limestone. But what options are there? Or should the stone be completely sanded down? Does some kind of impregnation or sealing make sense for exterior use at all?
