We have recently had gravel laid in our garden area and left a section open for topsoil. This area is level with the gravel surface, and since the property is on a gently sloping site, I want to prevent rain from washing the topsoil away.
Here is my plan: I will place sandstone blocks around the lawn area (about 30 sqm (320 sq ft)) and lay turf on the topsoil.
This should stabilize it within 2-3 weeks so that heavy rain won’t wash everything away.
However, this is just my amateur idea.
What would you suggest? The soil is piled up towards the street and has not yet been protected by any stones or walls.
Thanks and best regards
