Today, a post
Many prefab home manufacturers and large-scale general contractor cooperations send newsletters when a customer’s house is completed in my or a nearby postal code area. I find the idea quite nice—to know, in a similar setting, that the other attendees are at least familiar from reading.
If you feel the same way, please share here when and where your screed party, conservatory topping-out celebration, or similar event will take place.

When the screed is finally in (hopefully next week), a few corks will be popped here.

whether, especially in projects where the community has shared extensive challenges, the clients themselves might sometimes also enjoy bringing the support after “being over the worst” into real life (?)
...That is a really great idea. I would participate. When I announced the development plan for our plot in another thread, I mentioned that I would also offer a site visit. I’m just waiting for the right time. At least I want to inform you before anyone else about the scheduled delivery date of the prefab house. I would like to turn that into a small event. Some people might find it interesting to see. Especially children or families with children.Pinkiponk schrieb:

I find that very interesting, even though in my experience it rarely works because a) there should be one person organizing everything where all the threads come together, and b) many don't commit firmly and cancel last minute simply because their priorities change... We might be able to work something out.

And if Der Elefant already brings up a topic, that’s exciting enough by itself.
I think a conversation about to be or not to be over the third beer between @HilfeHilfe, @Pinkiponk, and @Nordlys (random selection) is more than a charming idea... And I want to ask YPG anyway about the connection between their amazing house and the depths of their soul.

No one – but you don’t really need that:
for example, I would write “RLP North, postal code 56.” That way, someone from Hamburg would know it’s probably too far for them; but those from postal codes 53 and 57 might consider it worth looking into (?)
and anyone who wants to know more can sort out the details via private message. But a “central” forum thread for those who have gone through the tough processes would be practical – and anyone who thinks differently can just be quickly ignored. Go ahead – there are enough crazy people online who can be helpful as internet personas but very unpleasant in real life. – I think an anonymous photo story works just as well.
