Hello everyone,

About a year ago, I tiled several rooms indoors and grouted them using PCI Flexfuge Sand Grey (No. 22). Now I notice that the grout throughout the entire floor area is sanding off or so soft that I can scrape it out with my fingernail. However, in the skirting area and other rooms (same floor covering, just a different grout color) the grout is hard.

After closely inspecting the rooms, here is the surprising part: When the 25 kg (55 lb) bag was used up, I bought a 5 kg (11 lb) bag, and in this area the grout is hard (and slightly darker)!! The same applies to the skirting area.

I contacted the manufacturer, but they require the batch number from the bag. Of course, I no longer have it saved...

What could be the cause? Has anyone experienced similar problems with this product? Is there any warranty or guarantee for the grout?

Best regards,
your fliesenfranz!

Hello, possibly overlapped or joint mortar has already become damp.

Ah, interesting.

Now I have received a response from the manufacturer: Although they did not get the batch number that was originally absolutely necessary, the goods were fine. No idea on what basis this statement is made...

However, the manufacturer is offering us a few hundred euros!! How is that possible? They wouldn’t just give something away voluntarily, would they?
