Hello,

the screed is scheduled for the week after next. Due to time pressure and on the recommendation of our tiler, we plan to lay tiles directly onto the fresh screed. Does anyone have experience with this "fresh-in-fresh" method? Did you encounter any disadvantages?

Best regards,
Gritt

In other countries, this is common practice; the flooring is sometimes installed directly on the concrete. However, the climate in winter is different there.

Search online for „frisch in frisch sakret“ to find an explanation.

This is called the thick-bed method, which was more common in the past than it is today. Nowadays, thin-bed adhesive is typically used... I imagine that many no longer practice the thick-bed method as a craft (in Germany).

By the way, this thread is 7 years old, and since @Heidi1965 seems to have a different issue (overzealous tilers), further discussion should continue here https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/duerfen-fliesen-auf-frischen-estrich-gelegt-werden.37369/.
