Good evening. We had liquid screed installed in the house one week ago. The underfloor heating is being gradually turned up. From the beginning, there have been slight "cracks" visible on the surface.

What does “from the very beginning” mean?
How was the floor dried during the first 3 days?
And is it actually a flowing screed?

Something is wrong there. Ours didn’t look like that; it was completely even.

I wouldn’t call those minor cracks; in our case, the surface looks completely smooth without any cracks. I would definitely recommend looking into this, as it certainly shouldn’t be left as it is.

Best regards,

Turning on the heating after one week? I find that unusual. We were told to wait at least three weeks. Now the screed has been drying for five weeks, and the system will be started today.

The screed is completely smooth and free of cracks.

That’s why I asked whether it is liquid screed: that type can actually be heated after just 7 days. However, I assume it is traditional screed...
