Will we still receive the full subsidy if we continue to operate our existing gas condensing boiler after installing an air-to-water heat pump and solar thermal system?

On August 9, 2022, we submitted an application for funding for the installation of an air-to-water heat pump and a solar thermal system. We selected the option: "I am applying for funding for the following systems: heating technology using renewable energy sources, including renewable energy hybrid heating systems." Now we are considering keeping the existing gas condensing boiler to heat more economically with gas at low temperatures. However, we are worried about losing the subsidy (35% for the air-to-water heat pump and 30% for the solar thermal system). This concern arises because the press often mentions the "replacement" of the old heating system in connection with the subsidy.

Does anyone have experience with this? Can someone explain why we would still be eligible for the subsidy?

The funding conditions clearly state "replacement." The old gas heating system must definitely be removed; otherwise, it counts as subsidy fraud. There is no such thing as partially pregnant, just as there is no partial replacement.

Yes, that's correct. This is specified in the current funding conditions. However, we submitted our application before the comprehensive changes that have been in effect since August 15, 2022 (on August 11, 2022). Was the replacement also mandatory under the conditions at that time?

Yes.

And here are a few filler words...
