Hello everyone,

During the house planning, I came across the XP8 from Eder. The block is 49cm wide (19 inches). The price from construction companies is almost the same compared to a 36.5cm (14 inch) block.

However, in discussions with companies, I notice they are not always sure how to carry out certain construction details, such as the base area, ring beam, and ceiling edge blocks, since the block width seems to be an issue. I am a layperson in this field myself.

Has anyone had experience with this block?

Our building location: South Berlin

Thank you

The geometric wall thickness is probably the least of the problems. For the details, you have your planner. Whether what we are dealing with here can still be called a "stone" is certainly a matter of definition. One thing is definitely incorrect: high thermal mass and excellent insulation, because these naturally exclude each other. The desire to meet all requirements for an exterior wall with a monolithic construction method as best as possible is understandable but always involves a compromise.

Best regards.
