Steffi33The back of the neighbor’s garage has always been unattractive. However, it should be the (hopefully) perfect spot for two new kiwi plants. For this, they needed a sturdy trellis framework, which we built ourselves using old wooden beams and 8 mm (5/16 inch) steel reinforcing bars. In between, a quick coat of paint… voilà… like new. Of course, we asked the neighbors beforehand.

Our kiwis are in their 6th year. They have never flowered. No flowers, no fruit. Could it be that they needed to be grafted first?

How big are your kiwi plants now? Do you have a photo? We have these small kiwi berries from "Kiwiri" and are hoping for a harvest. They’re huge. But we do prune the vigorous shoots. I can’t provide photos right now because we’re camping again. They were bought as female and male plants from Lubera.
