My wife and I will soon be purchasing a house in Hamburg and are currently planning extensive renovation work. We are currently considering questions about parquet and flooring. We want to choose something really high-quality.
Now to my questions:
On the ground floor, we want to install large-format oiled oak parquet planks (over 3m (10 feet)) in length. Originally, it was supposed to be solid planks, but the flooring installer strongly recommended a multi-layer plank, especially because of the underfloor heating. Their arguments sounded very plausible. What do you think about this?
On the upper floor, we want to install a cozy fixed carpet in the bedroom area. The hallway, children’s rooms, and home office will have a wood-look vinyl flooring made of PVC, as it is the most practical (easy to wipe clean) and still looks good. We will also lay some custom-sized rugs, especially in the children’s rooms. We are not fans of ceramic tiles at all and are therefore currently considering using the vinyl flooring in the two upper bathrooms and the guest toilet downstairs. Does that make sense?
