nxtgenhaus27 Oct 2020 22:14Hello,
our shell construction is complete, and the carpenter will come next week to install the roof frame. We are now wondering whether we should have a snow guard installed right away, and if so, should it be placed only above the main entrance or all around the building? The neighbors in the new development area have not installed any snow guards.
Snow load zone in the Landshut area
Hip roof with a 24° pitch, eaves length about 10m (33 feet) per side
Roof tiles: Creaton Cantus

I would consider continuous installation to be excessive, but for secondary entrances (and exits!) I would certainly see safety grilles as useful.

fach1werk28 Oct 2020 20:52We have some running along the pathway beside the house extending beyond the front door, where the mailbox is also installed. Among other things, there is a liability, for example, toward the mail carrier.
Best regards,

nxtgenhaus29 Oct 2020 23:40Hi, thanks for the tips. We are now installing the snow guard on the side with the path from the garage/carport to the front door. We will leave the rest without it.
