Hello

I just wanted to ask how to properly waterproof a shower screen.
I have installed a frameless shower tray mounted 15cm (6 inches) high against the wall, with an open, tiled entrance.

The shower glass is currently sealed with silicone horizontally on both the inside and outside of the glass, and vertically on the inside at the profile. This means the small horizontal part of the profile is not sealed. See the pictures.

After showering, I noticed there is probably water running into the profile, but it should also be able to drain out again. There is a thin water film at the joint between the profile and the tray.

I was told that this part at the bottom should be left open because if it is sealed, water cannot drain out. I just don’t want water to somehow sneak through the profile into the wall or somewhere else.

Is this sealing done correctly? Can someone answer this for me?

Thanks in advance.

Regards
