ᐅ Removing silicone from mineral cast surfaces – which cleaning agent is recommended?

Hello everyone,

I would like to renew the silicone seal of our shower tray. The tray is made of mineral cast resin.
Now I am considering the best way to remove the silicone residues that will probably remain after cutting out the old seal.
Most common products seem to be acidic and therefore not suitable for mineral cast resin.
Some websites recommend acetone, while others advise against using it.

Does anyone have experience with this?

There are special silicone removers available from various manufacturers—either at hardware stores or specialized suppliers. Apply it, let it sit for a while, and then scrape it off.

Yes, exactly, but they all (at least all the ones I have seen so far) are acidic and therefore actually not suitable for mineral cast.
