Good evening everyone!

Faucet with removed aerator and visible gear wheel

I’m renting (hopefully that’s okay) and after a short time, the shut-off handle on my shower mixer tap (Friedrich Grohe) came loose. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice this during the viewing. From my amateur perspective, it looks like it might have been installed incorrectly at some point (or maybe something broke?), and now a plastic part is stuck inside the handle.

Since I have a €70 deductible for repairs, I’d prefer to fix it myself if it’s not too complicated.

Could someone tell me if this looks like the correct replacement part and whether it can be easily swapped out? Or is there a way to save the original part? Do you see any way to get the plastic piece out of the handle?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards, Waldkauz

The spare part is 47187 Grohe shut-off handle for Thermostat Automatic 2000 (unfortunately, I am not allowed to link it and have not found an edit function). Thank you!
