Hello everyone,
We finally moved into our new home in September. Only now have I noticed the following: On the ground floor, we have tiled floors. Instead of base tiles (baseboards), we have painted wooden skirtings, not laminated. I’ve noticed that in the guest bathroom, utility room, and laundry room, the joint between the wall and the tile is sealed, regardless of whether there is a base tile or not. However, in all the rooms where we have the wooden skirtings, no sealing has been applied.
Now I wonder if sealing should also have been done there. Why wouldn’t it be sealed just because there is a wooden skirting? Our site manager said it’s not a problem and that someone can come by to do it if we really want. But are there any disadvantages, or is it generally recommended that sealing is necessary?
Thanks and best regards
