Hello everyone,

Can someone help me out?

I am currently installing a used greywater system for the toilets. For the pressurized water pipes in the basement for the supply, I chose stainless steel pipes with Viega Sanpress red brass V-profile fittings.
I ordered a pressing tool with the V-profile, but somehow the alignment/fit is already off before pressing.
In the unpressed state, the pressing jaw already touches the bead for the sealing ring. According to Viega, "the sealing element should not be deformed during pressing."

Are there special pressing jaws for the Sanpress V-profile, or are they all the same and can be used for fittings made of copper or stainless steel?

You can use the clamping jaw with V-shaped contour. Only the areas in front of and behind the sealing ring will be deformed.

The pressing jaws are now already fully in contact with the O-ring groove.

The groove will not be deformed either, as this would also push the O-ring out of the groove and it would no longer seal. The deformation is only intended to prevent the joint from being pulled apart.
