Hello,

My wife wants to have a dimmer installed. We are building a new house. Now you can buy the dimmer module with or without a two-way switch.

What exactly is a two-way switch? I couldn’t fully understand it from the information I found online…

How many switches are there for the lamp?
You usually need a two-way switch if you have more than one switch for the lamp.

Only one... Great! So that fits.

Thanks

I always thought that a two-way switch setup involves exactly 2 switches. When there are 3 or more switches for the same lighting point, isn’t that called a series switch or a push-button switch?

No, that is called a two-way switching circuit, and for that, you need two single-pole double-throw switches plus additional intermediate switches. ;-)

Good luck

Or you have an impulse relay "eltako," then it also works with push buttons.
