We went out over the weekend to look at interior doors. For the first time, I noticed that there are interior doors without keyholes: magnetic latch locks.

What is the general experience here in the forum?
Are they worth the extra cost per door?
Or are they more prone to repairs?

In practice, can the door locking mechanism really be operated so easily and reliably as promised?

And it’s much quieter too 😉

It looks like this:

Inside of the door: metal latch set on the door leaf, visible screws, round door knob.

Thanks for the answers. I’ll need to keep an eye out to see if I notice it live sometime. I wouldn’t have thought it could be quieter, since the magnet has to pull the contact closed.
