Hello!
We are planning to build a new house soon and are currently trying to estimate the costs involved. I have found a kind of planning tool that shows the costs of individual choices, allowing you to design the house according to your budget. I like that it doesn’t seem to be tied to any prefabricated house manufacturers trying to sell me something. However, I have a question: how reliable are the cost estimates provided? I want to avoid any surprises when I discuss these plans with my trusted builder.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
Thank you!

Hello Dirk,

You won’t get a reliable cost estimate this way, even if you already have a preliminary design with quantity takeoff.

You can’t even specify a U-value for the external wall.
How are you supposed to know, for example, whether you comply with the energy saving regulations?

Questions about whether KfW funding can be used are completely off the table.

I don’t know why Heinze gets involved in this kind of thing.
