Hello everyone,

Does anyone here use the knife compartment? I got rid of my old knife block because I want to keep all my knives and scissors together in one drawer. For the good knives, I would like to use the knife compartment, but looking at the picture, I’m not sure how it works with the 7 knives. The slots in the upper part are clear, but what is the purpose of the second block that has fewer slots?

I was planning to use the lower section for small knives, but is that even possible?

I’d appreciate it if someone could briefly explain this compartment to me.

Best regards,
Frauke

This is for deeper knives. The slots in the first block are deeper where the second block also has slots. For example, I keep my vegetable cleaver there. The other slots are for shallower knives, such as fish and cheese knives.

@billyjohn,

thanks for your reply, I think I understood, but I have two more questions... could the first compartment or section be used for small knives (stored sideways) or scissors, or do the large knives extend over this area? 😳 Sorry, I really have no sense of the dimensions.

It would be very kind if you could also tell me how far a knife with an overall length of 36.5 cm (14.4 inches) and a blade length of 24.5 cm (9.6 inches) would reach. Would it go up TO or OVER the first block? This is actually the only knife I have that is this long; the others are smaller.

Thanks and best regards,
Frauke
