Doc.Schnaggls2 Jul 2015 16:53Hello,
During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, our front garden (rock garden with some plants) was completely destroyed by an animal unknown to us personally 😀.
Specifically, this means:
- All the plants (perennials) were bitten off about 5 cm (2 inches) above the ground, while the grasses were partly just trampled down and broken as a result.
- Deep scratch marks can be seen in the gravel bed.
- The gravel was scattered around within a radius of 2 m (6.5 feet) from the planting area.
- In the exposed soil, there are animal tracks that we cannot identify – they look like oversized marten tracks.
- Our immediate neighbor also had some plants bitten and damaged.
Have you ever experienced something similar and can tell us which animal might be causing this damage and what I can do about it (other than a trap with a nasty wolf inside :cool 🙂?
Constantly buying new plants isn’t really an option... 😉
Best regards,
Dirk

Irgendwoabaier2 Jul 2015 17:13Oh, that could have been anything from a curious newcomer to a fully grown hog (or its mate). In that case, not much legal help is available. But if the guy with the strange fire torch shows up – then there might still be a usable roast...
A bear? ;-)
Probably one size smaller, likely a hungry family of raccoons?
They can also cause quite a bit of damage.
