Exactly, both materials have their pros and cons. For example, we have a Hoesch Happy D made of sanitary acrylic and have nothing negative to say about it. Of course, sanitary acrylic is somewhat more prone to minor scratches, but metal tubs usually feel a bit cooler. Overall, we are satisfied!
I wouldn’t install anything myself, only have it installed by a professional who uses the latest technology and standards. If a beam is required, then a beam should be used... I don’t need to decide that as a layperson. It probably also depends on the material of the tub, right?!
