My fiancé and I are trying to acquire a plot of land in a new residential development within a municipality where my fiancé grew up. We have already registered on the list of interested parties and are now waiting for the land allocation to begin. So far, only a preliminary development plan has been released, and the municipality has informed us that they are still in “purchase negotiations.” Can someone explain what this means?
I am also very interested in hearing about other people’s experiences with buying land from municipalities (How did it go for others? What were the chances? How long did the whole process take? Would you do it again…?)
