A few months ago, we bought a sofa set and now it's time to clean it or possibly have it professionally cleaned. Does anyone know which products are suitable for cleaning leather? Or is it better to have it cleaned professionally? Ideally, how often should a sofa set or similar be cleaned?
Thanks in advance for your tips.
Best regards

Um, how do you treat your furniture that you need to have it cleaned after just a few months? I would have expected leather to be cleaned earliest after three to five years. A damp cloth should be enough.
I once had a leather set made of blue (nubuck) leather. The first cleaning was after 5 to 7 years.
What exactly is your material and what does the care instruction say? There are special cleaning and care products available from specialist retailers.
Upholstery set... okay... upholstered furniture?
Anyway: Smooth or velour leather? Faux leather? What color?
I was also confused at first like @nordanney, since we’ve had two white faux leather chairs for three years that I’ve only wiped once.
But I once had a natural-colored leather sofa from Schillig, where you could easily see the wear from jeans dye.
Basically, soapy water and a soft sponge should remove everything. Expensive cleaning products don’t do more. However, leather should be conditioned afterwards to keep it supple.
