Hansj400026 Dec 2021 10:47Good morning,
I have a small problem with the new remote control for our garage door opener brand "Parkside." I don’t have an exact model number as there are no documents left. Our tenant for the garage bought a new handheld remote control some time ago. According to him, he only managed to program the new (see photo / black handheld remote) by "randomly pressing buttons."
It apparently worked well afterward. Now a new tenant is moving in soon, and I had to replace the battery in the new remote. However, it no longer works. The old gray remote (see photo) still works.
I found a user manual for a Parkside garage door opener. It says you have to press a red button on the garage door opener and then press a button on the remote. That’s supposed to be all. Unfortunately, this procedure does not work with the new remote. The new remote does seem to work in principle, as a green light turns on when I press a button. But the garage door does not move. It even gets to the point that the old remote no longer works either. When I perform the programming procedure for the old remote, a light on the garage door opener starts blinking, a bigger light turns on, and the old remote works again. Unfortunately, our former tenant does not remember where he bought the remote, so I cannot ask him further. I am really at a loss. Does anyone have any advice?
Many thanks in advance.

As already suggested here, identify the type/model of the drive and look up the manual online. Do the same for the remote control(s). (Just turn the remote over; the information is printed on the bottom…)
By the way, when replacing the battery, the remote control usually does not lose its settings—unless it is defective.

And in the end, they are simply toggle switches to set the code. But not with these remote controls. They are much too small for that. That used to be the case with the large "boxes" powered by a 9 V battery.
