Hello! We would prefer to heat our new home using geothermal energy, but we have heard from two acquaintances that their systems have been producing less output year after year. After only 7 years, they are already considering drilling a new well at a different location because the old one no longer delivers the expected performance. Is this normal? Given the high investment costs, I want a system that will provide reliable performance over the long term.

Hello

this is the result of the geothermal system (EWS) not being properly designed a few years ago.

The company GETEMA in Geroldswil provided me with expert advice.
They have extensive experience with ground probes. They explained everything to me in detail.
They themselves said that not everyone has reached the same level of expertise regarding ground probes yet.

Regards, Attika

I can only confirm that; there is still a significant need to catch up here. However, I believe that consultations and information will improve in the future.

I have read that as well, and after such a short time, new drilling had to be done. Actually, the effort is far too extensive. Hopefully, there will be better conditions in the future.

Having to drill again after just 7 years is quite a hassle. Time passes quickly anyway. I’ve heard that this can be tested in advance. The number of drillings also varies. Whether it is cost-effective in the end, I’m inclined to doubt.

Hi,

I have read about the test as well. But seven years is quite a long time. Nothing lasts forever, after all.

Best regards
