Hello everyone,
I started looking for plant containers earlier this year. I searched the internet and, of course, found the usual options, but I’m a bit hesitant to order without seeing the surface texture and color in person. However, the internet usually offers the greatest variety of sizes.
I didn’t find anything really suitable in the common hardware stores here.
At a great garden center in the nearest big city, there were really beautiful fiberglass containers, but at very high prices. Considering the number I ultimately want to buy, I couldn’t quite justify it.
However, last night our large olive tree tipped over in the old terracotta pot, which broke, so I now urgently need a replacement.
What I’m looking for:
- Frost resistant
- Concrete look
- Variety of sizes (since I plan to buy several, but would like them to match from the same series)
I now think fiberglass might be a good solution for us, especially since some will be placed on the rooftop terrace, where I want to avoid unnecessary weight to protect the waterproofing.
I need approximately the following dimensions:
50x50x50cm (20x20x20 inches)
100–120x40x40–50cm (40–47x16x16–20 inches)
80x80x80cm (31x31x31 inches)
30x30x80cm (12x12x31 inches)
40x40x100cm (16x16x39 inches)
The large square size of about 80x80cm (31x31 inches) is particularly difficult to find.
So my question is, what kind of plant containers do you use? What are your experiences (including long-term durability)? What material do you prefer?
I’m happy to receive recommendations for manufacturers as well.
Good luck,
Crossy

I have some from Lechuza. Colorfast, various sizes, frost-resistant so far – I've been using them since 2018.
However, in the meantime, I switched to Norma. The garden center was closed due to Corona.
There is a difference in the feel, watering system, and stability. But also in the price.

My brother has some from Toom with a concrete look, but they’re not square. They do look quite large ;-)
I have some made of fiberglass in anthracite from Vivanno AE TradeHow satisfied are you with the Vivanno ones? I have already been looking at those as well
