we plan to start building our single-family house in spring. We are building on our own without a general contractor. At the moment, we are still in the land purchase phase. The floor plan with the architect is mostly finished. We still need to plan the windows. Now I am wondering if it makes sense to contact window manufacturers before consulting with the structural engineer.
And a few more questions:
- Is it advisable to visit bathroom fixture suppliers now to plan the bathroom and guest toilet?
- Should we request quotes from kitchen manufacturers?
- Should we request quotes from door manufacturers?
How else could I use the time effectively before construction begins, so I don’t have to make all decisions in a rush?
