Unfortunately, I can’t give a recommendation, but I strongly advise against cherry laurel. We had it planted by a gardener with the promise: “It’s evergreen, grows quickly and densely!” Nonsense – it really grows well until winter, but then it dries out every year during winter. We have to cut it back every time, and this happens annually. After four years, it’s only about 50cm (20 inches) tall. So please, stay away from cherry laurel.
