It’s a bit unusual, but what do you think about painting an older kitchen countertop, simply applying lacquer or paint? I imagine it wouldn’t last very long and would scratch easily, especially if you plan to use it as a work surface. We once painted cabinets, but that didn’t turn out very well either.

Kurt1985-129 Aug 2014 11:39In our case, the kitchen countertop is a very heavily used work surface. Especially when the children are cooking with us, things can get quite intense. So, simply painting the countertop wouldn’t be helpful. After a short time, it would look worn out again. That’s why a new one is purchased every few years.
