Hello everyone,
First of all, I hope this is the right section 🙂.
I have received several quotes for the shell construction. I want to share the one I feel best about so far—it’s affordable, and the owner seems reliable and friendly. The references also looked very good. The house will have a brick veneer.
What do you think about this offer? Should I ask for any changes?
Thanks!!!
PS: I could also list the other quotes (they are more expensive but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything 🙂)......

No magnifier, it’s a jpg displayed picture-in-picture here, so I can’t zoom in.
I don’t want to open an extra window; switching back and forth is too much hassle for me.Huh? :-)
Alternatively: download the image ... open it with Windows Photo Viewer and zoom in
Or Linux? :-)
Just a tip from me, and please take it to heart. Ask for the quote to be rewritten as materials plus installation costs for each item. No matter how friendly the structural builder is, giving them a quote like this basically gives them free rein to charge arbitrary labor hours. You won’t be able to verify or control the labor hours they bill.
Also, what’s the point of having all those line items listed as 1 linear meter or 1 cubic meter? That won’t give you a clear understanding of the total structural construction costs. Didn’t the builder prepare the quote based on the plans?
And if they are willing to revise the quote, make sure they use the correct quantities directly from the plans. They should be willing to put in that effort if they want your contract.
