Hello everyone!

Today, I received two quotes for a prefabricated garage with the dimensions 3.48 x 6.00 x 2.64 meters (LxWxH), with a door opening of 3 x 2.12 meters (LxH).
The following items are included in the offer: ventilation opening in the rear wall, washable interior finish (rough textured plaster), concrete floor with slope towards the door, roof designed for green roofing (plus roof reinforcement for snow load), sectional door, a door at the back leading to the terrace exit, an electrical package (outlets), a sliding bearing for connection to paving, all for a price of 11,700 euros.

The foundation slab will be done by the excavation and shell construction team and is therefore not included here.

I find the price somewhat expensive and will of course request more offers.
What do you think?

It’s about... you’re outside the standard size of six by three. That costs extra. If you took six by three, the truck could leave with two pieces, could set up its own crane, no special permit or heavy transport procedures would be needed, which saves money. Six by three, same design, for 8. Wanna bet? Karsten

Yes, this is a custom size because I want a bit more space at the back (storage area for bicycles since there is no basement).
Phew, now I have to consider whether the extra 0.5 meters (1.6 feet) are worth almost 4,000 euros more to me. Are 3x6 meters (10x20 feet) standard for single garages?

It could be even smaller. But check the traffic regulations. The transport width is limited to three meters (9.8 feet). Above that, a special permit is required. Two units or 12 meters (39.4 feet) in length can be transported on a semi-trailer. If longer, only one unit can be transported. Our Rekers 6 by 3 meters (19.7 by 9.8 feet) cost 7,300 without electrical installation, but including foundations, delivered and assembled. Similar to your design. But with a swing gate and also a back door included. Karsten

Smaller is not an option... I was already wondering why "driving permit," "transfer flat rate," and "transport escort" were listed in the offer—so, due to the oversize, okay. These services apparently cost 835€ net.

Is a crane absolutely necessary? In one case it says "the required crane setup will be billed based on effort," and in the other "if a mobile crane is still needed due to site conditions, it will be charged additionally." What would the approximate extra cost be?

Watch the setup process on YouTube. If that doesn’t work out, a mobile crane will be used. Costs unknown, but it will always be around $200 per hour. Travel time to and from the site is included.
