Axel900Good evening,
can you tell me the best way to seal the gap between the window frame and the masonry? The gap is about 4cm (1.5 inches) wide and 10cm (4 inches) deep.
Do you also have any advice on how to install a wooden window sill? Currently, there is no support surface. On the contrary, the wall is actually recessed compared to the window.
Thank you very much in advance!

Just look up RAL standards. Window hinges, foam, compression seals, sealing layers, interior tighter than exterior, and so on.
If you’re already asking this kind of question, I have to admit I’m worried about serious issues.
Regarding the window sill: Was that originally a heating niche? Will it still be closed off? Leaving it open is a bad idea because you can’t even properly place anything in front of it. So it should be bricked up with Ytong or a similar material.
Then you can simply attach the window sill on top. Otherwise, you will have to use brackets.
