Hello everyone,
I would like to prepare an interior wall so that I can attach photos magnetically. For this, I want to use small self-adhesive magnetic sheets that I stick on the back of the photos. We have found this very useful on metal door frames, as it allows us to quickly swap photos without having to frame them first. The holding power doesn’t need to be very strong.
The wall should remain white and otherwise unobtrusive. What would you recommend for this? A specific type of paint or a sheet applied under the wallpaper?

Best regards
Hendrik

Brillux offers "CreaGlas Glasvlies VG4101 Magnetic," a glass fleece with a magnetic backing, used in commercial spaces such as offices and seminar rooms. Similar products are likely available from other suppliers as well. I have no affiliation with the company and only know about this product by chance (also from personal experience: it works).

We bricked up a door in our house and installed a perforated sheet metal panel about 80x100 cm (31x39 inches) flush with the plastered wall surface. Then we painted the wall, and that was it.

Magnetic paint is available at any hardware store and can hold everything with niobium magnets.

There are so-called "magnetic plasters" made with metal sands, applied as a finishing coat with a thickness of 3-5mm (0.1-0.2 inches). The base layer or base plaster should have a minimum strength. Very soft plasters, such as pure lime plaster or thermal insulation plasters, are not suitable. The magnetic adhesion is very good, especially with neodymium magnets.

Thank you. I will try that with the color.
