Hello, fellow homebuilders!
We will be renovating our house soon. Much of the work will be done by ourselves, but of course, some tasks will be handled by the respective trades.
I am currently looking for project planning software (not CAD or BIM software!).
I want to define different planning phases, set tasks and subtasks, and establish workflows or sequences.
A type of documentation would also be great—both to track the progress of the construction and beforehand during the company selection process (comparing quotes, etc.) as well as for idea gathering (photos, links, texts).
In the end, I will probably be the only one using it, but my partner might also use it occasionally...
Does anyone know of something suitable?
I have already tried several options, but many are more targeted at software development or teams with hundreds of members.
The cherry on top would be free software that runs on Linux or preferably a headless server 😀. But that’s not a must.
Best wishes for the weekend!

I was about to suggest Office 365 with an E3 subscription until I read something about open source and Linux 🙂
Planner, SharePoint with OneNote, and Project should work well for your purpose. Apart from Project, I used these for my construction project, although I only had to coordinate painters, tilers, and myself—no other trades. That part worked fine without software. But to manage quotes, services, to-do lists, etc., properly, OneNote including SharePoint was excellent.
