Hello!

I am looking for a tall indoor plant that can grow from the ground floor up to the first floor. What would be suitable for this? I can also help the plant climb by attaching steel cables to the ceiling. From the first-floor ceiling, a light fixture should then hang down at various heights to the ground floor, serving as stairwell lighting.

Currently, there is an Ikea plant there! (See pictures)

Best regards,
Daniel

Basically, ivy or something similar would be suitable since it doesn’t shed its leaves. However, I don’t think there is a non-toxic type of ivy, so you might want to consider that...

You could also design the climbing frame in a way that allows you to hide one or more LED spotlights inside. That could become a real eye-catcher.

I don’t think the current plant is suitable for this; the stem will eventually just grow long, and I’m not sure if that will look very good 🙂

I once saw a large monstera plant, but I think that one was already too big 🙂 Otherwise, maybe hanging plants?

Hi,
take a look at pothos plants; they climb very well and do not shed their leaves.

Best regards
