ᐅ Living Space with Display Window

Several years ago, my father partitioned part of the living room in the ground-floor apartment of our house and installed a large display window facing the street. At that time, this was necessary to advertise his own business. Later, the partition between the display window and the living room was completely removed, and the entire apartment was rented out as commercial space. Now, however, I need the apartment again for private use and face the challenge of how to best separate the living room area from the display window.

The problem is that I want to make use of the natural light coming through the display window for the living room. If I simply build a partition wall using drywall panels, I could cut two window-sized openings in it. But that would look a bit odd. I am considering not installing any partition at all and instead covering the display window with a film that is transparent only from the inside.

I am just looking for an affordable and "elegant" solution to this problem and would appreciate any good ideas.

Hello, I really like the idea of the adhesive film that is only transparent from the inside. Maybe you could apply it to just about three-quarters of the window?

Hi,

This adhesive film is one option, and I would only apply it partially to the display window. A photo wallpaper could also appeal to me; there are different designs available. Alternatively, you could have one custom made.

There are quite a few good ideas.
