Hello everyone,
I read in the scope of work description from our builder that all interior walls will be finished with lime-cement plaster.
Since painting and wall coverings are not included in the purchase price, we are wondering what additional work and costs we might expect.
1. Can lime-cement plaster be painted directly, or does it require special surface preparation?
2. How would you proceed if your walls were completely finished with lime-cement plaster?
Thank you very much for your help

Our construction coordinator showed us lime-cement plaster in one of his rental properties. In the hallway of our apartment, we have lime-gypsum plaster. Honestly, I don’t really mind either. I find both acceptable. Both are painted white. If the lime-cement plaster can save me several thousand euros, then everything will be plastered that way.
If there are no drawbacks to the lime-cement plaster, then this will be our choice.

For smaller rooms, it might be sufficient; larger rooms, especially those with the possibility of grazing light, may require additional skim coating and the use of fiberglass mesh or similar.
However, I would base this decision on how the walls look after the plastering is completed.
