Hello everyone,

Can I lay tiles directly on a concrete floor, or do I need to level the substrate first with a smoothing compound? Has anyone done this before? If so, I would really appreciate your answers.

Hello Fuchs,

Of course, you can lay tiles on concrete. You will need to use tile adhesive anyway. If there are any slight uneven spots, you can level them out with the tile adhesive.

Hello Mantafan,

Thank you for your advice. The floor where I want to lay the tiles is completely level. I will manage it.

Hello Fuchs,

Have you already installed your tiles? If so, please tell us how it went. I still remember how it was for me when I laid tiles at home for the first time. I was very worried, but it turned out really nice and neat.

I wish you a lot of fun with your tiling.
