Hello, I need to install a 0/32 aggregate as a base layer for my house entrance platform, which I have just been able to get on short notice.
The structure will be approximately 25 cm (10 inches) of 0/32 aggregate, then 10 cm (4 inches) of concrete, followed by the concrete platform.
Is it possible to install and compact the entire 25 cm (10 inches) of 0/32 aggregate at once? Or is it better to lay it in layers and compact approximately every 12 cm (5 inches)?
Unfortunately, I don’t have access to a plate compactor right now. Would a hand tamper be sufficient to start with, and then compact again at the end when a plate compactor becomes available?
