BrosBrosBrosHello everyone, I am planning our carport measuring 3.40 m x 9.0 m (11 ft 2 in x 29 ft 6 in) and have received different opinions from two carpenters regarding the need for a wind bracing strap.
I am planning a flat roof made of tongue-and-groove boards, which will be nailed lengthwise onto the rafters.
Is a wind bracing strap necessary here, or is the stiffening provided by the nailed boards sufficient?
Thanks 🙂

Even cheaper...
It’s actually more about the 4-5 mm (0.16-0.20 inches) overlap diagonally, where there might be a slight dent in the roof when nailing the boards?
