Hello everyone.

Our roof has been framed, and we noticed something unusual with the underlay membrane.

I’m attaching a photo. This can’t be correct, can it? Any water that might get underneath the tiles wouldn’t be able to drain properly and could potentially find its way into the roof cavity.

Or am I misunderstanding something?

Could it be that the eaves beam was installed the wrong way around?

PS: Make sure they install an eaves flashing and don’t just hang the gutter insert into the gutter. Over time, the sun will cause it to deteriorate.

I will definitely point this out to my general contractor.

According to the building specifications, a drip edge is supposed to be installed. I’m curious to see!

I'm not an expert... but when I look at the second photo, I don't see any slope there. Wouldn't that cause water to pool?

There has been even more botched work discovered...
Tomorrow there will be a meeting with the construction management and the head of the carpentry team on the site...
