FelinxUnger-113 Jul 2012 17:06Our house (Kfw 70) will have 160 sqm (1,722 sq ft) of living space, two floors, and a basement.
My dream is to become completely independent from energy companies and produce my own energy. Is it possible to generate enough energy for heating and hot water solely with a photovoltaic system and a ground source heat pump?
And can this be achieved year-round, or is that not feasible?
Thank you very much for your answers.

However, I do not believe a self-sufficient energy supply is possible for a KfW70 standard. This is targeted for passive houses, but their design and technical equipment go far beyond the requirements of KfW70.
