Hello,

we now have a date for when our house is scheduled to be ready for moving in. I was wondering if it is possible to paint the bedrooms and install the flooring on the upper floor at the same time as the tiler is working? Or do you need to coordinate with the tradespeople? Of course, so that you don’t get in each other’s way. Would something like this be possible? It would also save time.

How do you build?

Yes, no problem. There are always many people working simultaneously. However, if it is a developer, I would make sure to obtain a building permit / planning permission.

There are contracts that state the construction is considered accepted as soon as you start carrying out your own work. It’s better to clarify with your general contractor that this does not apply in your case…

Hello,
if it’s not a developer, why not.
However, I would discuss it with the building insurance beforehand.

Our general contractor had prohibited this in their contract. It would have only been allowed after partial acceptance.

After the tiler, painters, stair builder, and installer/electrician for final assembly might still come. What if your floor is scratched the next day? Then everyone will want to deny responsibility.
