Hello.
I have heard that when building a single-family house in NRW, a structural engineer for verification has recently become mandatory. Until now, such a verification engineer was only required, among other things, for commercial buildings.
Did I miss something?

No, you haven’t missed anything.
A new state building code was being developed over several years, maybe it included something like that, but the new state government put the whole thing on hold before it could come into effect at the turn of the year.
