ᐅ Interior timber framing for a standard house would appeal to us.

Hello,

for our house, we really like the idea of exposed interior timber framing. You can find some very beautiful pictures by searching for exposed interior timber framing on Google.

However, our house should not be a traditional timber-frame house, but rather a "normal" house in both its construction method and external appearance. The upper floor does not necessarily need exposed timber framing either. We can only really imagine incorporating targeted timber-frame accents in the open living-kitchen-dining area on the ground floor.

My question is: is this possible? Of course, one could say "sure, anything is possible." But we want to keep costs within a reasonable range, cannot afford a star architect, and, as mentioned, do not want a full timber-frame house.

Since we are still in the idea phase, I just want to ask this question openly and hope to receive some helpful suggestions to either (a) discard my idea or (b) pursue it more focused than just looking at nice pictures on Google.

The question is what exactly is meant: as a room divider, it is much more complex than simply attaching doubled-up beam replicas to the wall surfaces (with plaster or tile infill).

With timber frame construction by a carpenter, you could customize everything according to your preferences. But even in a masonry house, many things should be possible, such as wooden beams, wooden ceilings, wooden walls, or whatever you prefer. They will have to come for the roof structure anyway. I assume it will be easiest to implement this with an architect.
