Hello,

- Situation:
The membrane in my Maxivarem ls 100 expansion tank is defective, and I want to replace it. I have already installed the replacement membrane inside the tank. The replacement membrane has an opening at both the top and bottom. The water pipe is connected at the lower end, and a cap is placed on the upper end.

- Question:
When I pressurize the system again, should I keep the upper cap open at first until the air inside the membrane escapes, or should I close the upper opening from the start? If I don’t keep the cap open, what is the purpose of the upper opening at all? One could just as well manufacture a membrane with only one opening. Is the upper opening only there to allow a pressure gauge to be connected?

Thank you very much
