The (pre- and northern) Eifler is well known for his sense of humor. My wife – originally from northern Eifel – even worked professionally for many years producing, performing, and selling humor. Otherwise: yes, I moved here from the Erft district, with many years spent in Düsseldorf and Cologne. That naturally has an influence. "d&c" is not necessary; those who dish it out must also be able to take it...

I have also thought about something like that before. There are various manufacturers offering some really unusual products. Just try searching for 3D flooring.
